Mark Lexton "Lex"

Master Goldsmith

Exposed to his family's rich heritage in the jewelry business, Mark inherited the passion, artistry and work ethic that defines all exceptional goldsmiths. Veins coursing with precious metals, the third-generation goldsmith began absorbing the tools of the trade at a tender age. A skilled watchmaker, his grandfather was the proprietor of a jewelry store in Lake City, South Carolina, laying the ground work for Mark's father to operate his own store.  Cherishing his familial heritage, Mark continues to draw upon and refine the traditional techniques he acquired as a young boy.

A connoisseur of his craft, Mark learned from years of meticulous trial and error and by following in the footsteps of those he most admires—his family. A graduate of Bowman's Technical School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, he honed his skills from stone setting to soldering. Upon his return to the South, Mark married his wife Lisa and his passions were paralleled by her own for the equestrian lifestyle. In attempts to entice Lisa, a self-proclaimed tomboy, to don his creations, Mark took inspiration from her riding gear and carefully carved a saddle and cast it in gold. The dressage pin, a constant on her lapel from day one, was the ultimate motivation behind the creation of Mark Lexton's first collection. Since then, the brand has grown to include two collections of carefully crafted and particularly wearable hand-forged pieces.

The family currently reside in the Pee Dee region of South Carolina. Lounging at the lake or bustling around the barn, the family loves to spend their free time together, accompanied by their pet dogs, cats and one horse who remains the inspiration behind many of the Mark Lexton pieces.
